Annual General Meeting 2003

27 October 2003

The Clubs Annual General Meeting was held on the 27th October 2003 at the Clubs headquarters.

  1. The Chairman welcomed those present, and reflected on what had been a disappointing year for the Club.  He announced that he would be standing down from the position at this meeting.  The meeting unanimously passed a vote of thanks to the chairman for all of his work for the Club.

  2. The meeting discussed the Clubs accounts and the disappointing figures showing a large operating loss for the year.  The treasure highlighted that some of this was due to the loss incurred when the Clubs mowers had been stolen earlier in the year.  He also explained that whilst the deficit in the funds could be covered at this time it was using up the Clubs reserves and a similar deficit in the next year would not be viable.  There then followed discussion about fund raising in general and the fact that several members had not paid subscriptions for the year, and that captains were having difficulty in obtaining match fees from some players.  It was decided that the Treasurer would liase with the Captains and the committee to ensure that outstanding Subscriptions for the 2003 season were obtained.  It was also agreed that the practice nets were now beyond repair, due to constant vandalism, and should be removed from the asset register.

  3. The meeting proposed the following change to the Rules of The Club

    Rule 2

Match fees are due for each match played and shall be paid on the same day as the match is played.

    TO ADD

"failure to pay will be referred to the Club Committee who will have discretion to take whatever further action they deem appropriate (This can include a financial penalty)."

The meeting agreed this amendment unanimously.

  4. Subscriptions for the 2004 season were set as

    Adult £25.00
